Hu-Friedy is a leading manufacturer of state-of-the-art dental equipment, with a long history of technological innovation. When they launched a new company-wide SharePoint intranet (HUGO), they saw an opportunity to maximize their investment by adding business intelligence report delivery through Microsoft BI.
They turned to Tahoe to create a solution that could deliver critical information across the organization quickly and in a user-friendly format. Our work at Hu-Friedy drastically increased the breadth and depth of their business intelligence reporting, and eliminated the investment of time and resources, as well as inevitable inaccuracies, inherent to their manual report preparation process.
A mix of custom code and out of the box Microsoft BI functionality, including SharePoint and SQL Server Reporting Services, was the right fit for their reporting needs. We designed and implemented a solution that extracts transactional data from SAP, while SSRS feeds information directly into the SharePoint intranet. Employees are thrilled with the improved functionality and usability, and it can easily be scaled for future growth.
For us, a great measure of client satisfaction is feedback from the end user. We had the opportunity to attend Hu-Friedy’s National Sales meeting to help launch the new reporting system – where it was greeted with a standing ovation by attendees. Instead of relying on spreadsheets and email, they can access current and archived reports on time and on demand. The days of waiting weeks to receive critical information are over. And at Hu-Friedy, they are delighted with the results.
