It seems like just yesterday that all of us were gathered in Las Vegas for Microsoft SharePoint Conference 2014. Now here we are preparing for this year’s Microsoft Ignite to be held in our hometown of Chicago, May 4th – 8th. We have all heard the adage ‘the older we get the faster time seems to go’ but come on, this is ridiculous (where has the year gone!?).
I recently read an article by Philip Yaffe, who explains this ‘time’ phenomenon via the interactions of ‘anticipation’ and ‘retrospection’. He makes the point that we all anticipate things important to us. Then after they happen, we look back at them. Makes sense! For those of us in the business of reimagining the digital workplace, redefining the definitions of collaboration and engagement, and really transforming how work is performed – Microsoft Ignite is important!
The Ignite Conference is a place and time where individuals from the business communities come together with those passionate about technology to innovate, learn and connect. It is a place to spark the ideas of the future, challenge norms of the past, and envision how technologies can accelerate our movement to a more productive, engaged and collaborative environment.
Tahoe will once again be an active participant in this cornerstone Microsoft event – as an Exhibitor (come see us at Booth #555), Speaker (Tahoe Partners Cloud Platforms Lead and Microsoft MVP Kris Wagner) and breakout session facilitator. Join us as we discuss how best to:
- Empower today’s workforce in a more mobile, social and data-driven environment
- Utilize consumer-based design philosophies to significantly improve user experiences, drive excitement and ultimately adoption across the workplace
- Engage organizational participants to increase knowledge reuse, share best practices, and drive innovation
- Capitalize on enabling cloud technologies to facilitate the transformation of the digital workplace
The Ignite Conference will be an action-packed week of keynotes, educational and brainstorming sessions, exhibitor presentations, and hands-on immersion sessions – not to mention evenings full of social and networking opportunities. It doesn’t take much to imagine how we can anticipate such an exciting event only to have it pass us by in the blink of an eye. Get the most out of this year’s event. Take the time to pre-plan your conference, identifying the sessions, breakouts, and keynotes of most interest to you. Schedule one-on-one sessions in advance but be sure to leave time for the ad hoc networking and thought-provoking conversations that will be all around us. Most importantly, take the time to enjoy the conference, soak up its many learning opportunities . . . and live in the ‘now’!
Stop by the Tahoe Partners booth (#555), say hello, and engage us in some conversation to spark the future! I also encourage you to seek out our strategic partners (AvePoint, Nintex, Sitecore) to understand how their enabling technologies help all of us to achieve our goals of building solutions that radically change the way people engage and collaborate.
See you there!
